I Can't Believe Lost Soul Aside Is Almost Here

Nearly a decade since its initial reveal, upcoming action RPG Lost Soul Aside has gone gold ahead of this month's launch.

While we've known for several months that Lost Soul Aside would target an August 29 launch, previous delays had made it unclear if this would actually happen. However, developer UltiZero Games confirmed things are proceeding as planned. In a new statement on WeChat, the studio advised the game's gone gold and that this month's release will proceed as planned.

Frankly, I still can't believe this is finally happening. I remember watching Yang Bing's initial video in 2016 showcasing an early look back when this was a solo project, later forming UltiZero Games with Sony's assistance. Certain similarities with the Final Fantasy XV protagonist, Noctis, were what grabbed my attention, and I've always kept an eye out ever since.

Of course, “going gold” these days doesn't necessarily mean a game won't be delayed. I still remember Cyberpunk 2077 announcing the same news before its intended November 2020 launch, only to later push it back by nearly a month. That's not to say this will happen again, more a reminder that this term doesn't necessarily mean what it used to.

Lost Soul Aside reaches PS5 and PC on August 29.
