Rewinder: What We're Playing This Week (August 16, 2025)
Quiet one before Gamescom.
We're back once again with the latest edition of What We're Playing.
With both myself and Lex heading to Gamescom next week, it's been a little quieter than normal across Rewinder. We can't discuss our exact plans just yet, and while that preparation has left us with less time than usual for articles, we'll aim to bring you live updates of what we're up to as it happens.
Until then, though, here's what the team's been up to.
Henry
Honestly, it's not been a big week for playing games for me. Most of my time there has been spent on a new F1 Manager 24 campaign, which is coming along pretty well. Turning 2024's worst performing team into championship contenders always presents an interesting challenge, because it's never as fun when you're starting from the very top.

I can't legally discuss some of the stuff I'm playing, or I'll be beheaded, but I did manage to get Final Fantasy XV to work again, at least for now. I've been enjoying Echoes of the End as well. It's a really solid first outing, and patches are already coming in to address some issues brought up in reviews. I also enjoyed and then dropped Evil West. That game has some amazing features and fight mechanics, but it reuses a lot of the same bosses who aren't fun to face down.

I am going to be honest. I barely played any video games this week. Finalising Gamescom appointments, setting up TGS appointments, planning travel, getting together the equipment for some on-site vlogs, and reorganising almost 1000 files on my Retroid so it was set up juuuust right before all my travel.
I do have TMNT: Tactical Takedown and OFF installed on my Switch 2, so I might play a bit of those during my planes, trains, and automobiles travel. However, it's just as likely that I will spend all that time answering emails on my phone or writing in my interview notebook.
So yeah, sadly, no game updates from Lexi this week. I did rewatch The Big Short again… I cannot stop thinking about "The Banks" handling of subprime loans in that movie and how companies talk about AI now.

I'll probably play a bunch of YARG too, though, so let's go with that.
