Trails beyond the Horizon Locks In January Release Date

Following its previous delay until next year, The Legend of Heroes: Trails beyond the Horizon confirmed a new release date this January.

Following on from Trails through Daybreak and Trails through Daybreak II, Trails beyond the Horizon previously launched in Japan last year. Featuring Van Arkride and the Arkride Solutions team once more, Horizon follows humanity making its way to space for the first time as the future of the Zemurian continent comes under threat.

Anyone who's played Trails will know Nihon Falcom is never afraid to bring back older characters from previous arcs, and Van's joined by two familiar faces. Rean Schwarzer is the returning protagonist from the Trails of Cold Steel series that immediately precedes the Calvard arc, while Father Kevin Graham originally appeared in the Liberl arc before becoming the third game's main character.

Marking the thirteenth entry in the wider Trails series and the third in this Calvard arc, NIS America initially announced a late 2025 launch window for Trails beyond the Horizon. However, the publisher advised last month this would be delayed until 2026, but no concrete reason was given. Horizon is also the first entry in the series getting a native Switch 2 edition, which was announced alongside the delay.

Trails beyond the Horizon launches on January 15, 2026, on PC, PlayStation, Switch and Switch 2.
