The Remake of the End of the Greatest RPG of All Time Has a New Steam Demo
New demo follows a recent delay after a contractor was accused of using AI.

The Remake of the End of the Greatest RPG of All Time, a puzzle game dressed like a classic RPG, launched a new Steam Next Fest demo.
One of the longest game names we've ever seen, The Remake of the End of the Greatest RPG of All Time (TRotEotGRPGoAT, to keep it short) is a deduction puzzle game that “remakes” the last hour of a JRPG that doesn't exist. This metafictional premise sees you explore a game inside a game, bringing this world to life through director's commentary, a digital manual, and archival footage.
As you'd expect from a more classic RPG, this still features a turn-based combat system but discovering how to proceed involves logging off from your PC and cross-referencing found clues. I enjoyed the previous demo a lot on Steam Deck, considering this to be an “entertaining challenge” that had me intrigued with great visuals. I'll be checking this out again soon.
While TRotEotGRPGoAT previously aimed for a November launch, this new demo follows a recent delay due to quality concerns. Director Lucas Immanuel advised that a contractor being employed by the studio “failed to produce work at the standard of quality we hold for this game,” advising they suspected that AI had been used. As such, the release date's been pushed back to next year.
TRotEotGRPGoAT is out in Q1 2026, and the new PC demo is live on Steam.
