Still Wakes the Deep Gets Siren’s Rest DLC Expansion Next Week

Still Wakes the Deep: Siren’s Rest is a paid story expansion set a decade after the original horror game that's launching soon.

Revealed earlier today by The Chinese Room, Still Wakes the Deep: Siren’s Rest takes place a decade after the Beira D incident. While the original game focused on Cameron "Caz" McLeary who finds himself trapped on an oil rig, Siren’s Rest sees you play as Mhairi, the leader of a specialist diving team that sets out to uncover what happened in 1975 in the North Sea.

"The Beira D is now a groaning steel catacomb interred in the inky depths of the North Sea. What really happened that December day in 1975, when communications to the mainland were severed and the rig sank without a trace? What answers can be given to families who still grieve, ten years on?," states publisher Secret Mode in a story description.

Beneath the waves, Mhairi's role involves exploring the remains of the former oil rig, using a cutting torch, crowbar and camera to piece together the mystery of what happened and recover what remains. It's a welcome surprise for a game many believed was a one and done deal, and I'll be keeping an eye on next week's launch.

Still Wakes the Deep: Siren’s Rest arrives next week on June 18 for PC, Xbox Series and PS5.
