Rewinder: What We're Playing This Week (July 26, 2025)
Party time

We're back once more with a new edition of What We're Playing.
Last week saw the team mostly united in playing Donkey Kong Bananza following its high-profile launch on Switch 2, so has that changed much since then? Maybe, maybe not. As always, here's what the team's been up to.

It's mostly been a week of review games for me. Donkey Kong Bananza is still top of my list alongside some more F1 25, while I also dropped into Le Mans Ultimate and Super Mario Party Jamboree. However, most of my time has been spent on two review games over at UploadVR: Clone Drone in the Hyperdome and Elsewhere Electric.

My ADHD fully claimed my enjoyment of Cyberpunk 2077 from me, so I've gone back to a mix of the exquisite Monster Train 2, and the classic boy band experience of Final Fantasy XV. Monster Train 2 builds on the first game by just adding in more variety and a clearer path to harder runs, which is sick. FFXV is a good time, and I only played it at launch, so it's got a lot of story that'll be new... when I get to it.

This week I have been playing a lot of Donkey Kong still, and I am starting to think I might want to 100% it. After rolling credits last night with 530-something bananas, it doesn't seem like it would be too much work to get the last few hundred.
I have also downloaded Super Mario Party Jamboree - Switch 2 Edition + Jamboree TV (to give it its full name). Which we'll be playing on Twitch soonish… Because we hate each other.

I am still collecting some bananas in Donkey Kong Bananza, I also got WWE 2K25 on Switch and can see myself playing too much of that because my brain does not have to work to play the wrestling.
