Ratatan Confirms New Early Access Release Date
Now arriving next month on PC.
Ratatan, the spiritual successor to classic rhythm game Patapon, arrives in early access next month.
For the unfamiliar, Ratatan is a side-scrolling rhythm roguelike action where over 100 characters fight in melee battles. Playable alone or in co-op, it previously targeted a July 25 launch on Steam Early Access before getting delayed. Now, developer Ratata Arts confirms in a new Steam announcement that it's launching on September 19 at 12am JST, or September 18 at 4pm BST/8am PT.

“This change gives us a little extra time to polish the game and deliver it to you in the best possible state. We know it’s a bit longer to wait, but we’re working hard in these final days to make it worth it!,” states the studio.
We've been awaiting news since Ratata Arts delayed last month's launch following poor reception to the demo, stating it needed more time to “properly address the overwhelming amount of feedback we’ve received.” Highlighted issues mention tutorial and UI being difficult to understand, an “unsatisfying” roguelike structure and reward pacing, and more.
Ratatan reaches PC in early access on September 18, while the full release is also planned for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and Switch.
