Puzzle Quest: Immortal Edition Revives an Old Favourite Soon

Puzzle Quest has seen many iterations across the years, but this new Immortal Edition could bring me back yet again.

A match 3 RPG that first launched in 2007, Puzzle Quest: Immortal Edition describes itself as the "definitive edition" that unites the base game and all previously released expansions into one. Published by 505 Games and developed by Infinity Plus 2, this boasts refreshed artwork alongside a new character class, 40 new items, and more quests.

I'm personally all in for this, as Puzzle Quest was once my second most played game on Steam. Do you know what beat it for many years? Puzzle Quest 2. Not far behind both was Gyromancer, Square Enix's own attempt at a match 3 RPG. Yeah I know, I know.

They've long since been surpassed by Rocket League, Beat Saber, F1 Manager 2024 and Baldur's Gate 3, but I can't describe how much pull this series had over me back then. Nostalgia is a potent thing few of us are truly immune to, much as we may like to pretend otherwise at times, so I'll likely be checking this out when it arrives.

Puzzle Quest: Immortal Edition launches on PlayStation, Xbox, Switch, and PC on September 18.
