Project Motor Racing Aims for an Authentic Racing Sim

I can't say I expected Farming Simulator's publisher to release a racing sim, but with Project Motor Racing, I'm certainly not complaining.

Previously announced in April, Project Motor Racing is an ambitious new title that aims for realism and precision with evolving grip lines, dynamic weather, and a 24-hour day/night cycle. Featuring a career mode, online multiplayer, time trials, leaderboards and full race weekends, developer Straight4 Studios is creating this using a newly built 720Hz physics engine.

At launch, Project Motor Racing states it will feature 72 cars across “10 iconic classes and 27 global layouts,” ranging from modern hypercars to older classics. Confirmed circuits so far include the home of the British Grand Prix, Silverstone, though it's being referred to simply as “Northampton,” alongside other notable tracks like Zolder, Kyalami, and Nürburgring Nordschleife.

It's also taking part in this weekend's Goodwood Festival of Speed in Chichester, UK, using a full simulator setup with four available cars to test: the Lola T70 Mk3B GT, Aston Martin DBR9, Lamborghini Huracán GT3 Evo2, and Panoz LMP1 Roadster S. As a motor racing fan, I'm sadly not in attendance (I'll get there one day) but it's a good chance for attendees to demo this early.

Project Motor Racing is heading to PC, Xbox Series, and PS5 on November 25.
