Place Your Wildest Bets, There's A Nintendo Direct Coming This Week

It's time for your wildest predictions, as there's a new Nintendo Direct presentation airing later this week.

Announced through the Nintendo Today! mobile app, Nintendo's signature showcase is back on September 12 at 6am ET / 9am PT / 2pm BST / 3pm CEST. Lasting for “roughly 60 minutes” with a focus on upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 and Switch games, this follows July's Partner Showcase alongside last month's Kirby Air Riders Direct and Indie World.

As for what to expect, September 13 marks the 40th anniversary of the original Super Mario Bros launching in Japan. One rumour suggests a New Super Mario Bros collection is being planned, and we're also awaiting release dates for Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment and Metroid Prime 4: Beyond. We'll likely get a glimpse at 2026's release plans, too.

That's all well and good, but we all know Nintendo loves pulling the odd surprise revival every so often, like Rhythm Heaven Groove or Another Code: Recollection. So I want to know what your wildest, most unlikely predictions are for this. Personally, I'm banking on StarTropics 3 or a new Battalion Wars, though Lex is betting on Madden 1997 or a Donkey Kong '94 prequel.
