Next Week's Thinky Direct Is A Showcase For Puzzle Fans

Indie showcases aren't anything new during conference season, but I can't recall seeing many focused entirely on puzzle games.

Airing next week, Thinky Direct by Thinky Games is kicking off on May 29 and it's filled exclusively with problem-solving head scratchers. Promising new reveals and world premieres across an hour long digital showcase, featured studios like Akupara Games (Sorry We're Closed), Wholesome Games Presents (Minami Lane), Draknek & Friends (Spooky Express) and more.

It's also kicking off the Cerebral Puzzle Showcase, an upcoming Steam event that promises to showcase "puzzle games of all sizes and scopes for all audiences." Marking the fourth event following its launch in 2022, that's being hosted by Draknek & Friends and will take place from May 29 until June 5.

We're slowly approaching the traditional conference season, which honestly feels like it's getting longer and longer each year. While Summer Game Fest and the Xbox Games Showcase are usually the biggest events these days, the ones that generally draw in major AAA reveals, those two and Thinky Direct certainly aren't alone.

This week alone has Warhammer Skulls and the Six One Indie Showcase, while TinyBuild Connect and the JRPG focused Indie Quest will follow next week. Then we've got the Future Games Show, PC Gaming Show, Day of the Devs, Wholesome Direct, the Access-Ability Summer Showcase, and probably a few I'm missing. All I'm saying is, please spare a thought for your local news writers.
