Morgan: Metal Detective is a coming of age tale where you go treasure hunting across a Cornish island.

If there's something I'd love to see more of across gaming, it's smaller scale adventures across different regions of England. Thank Goodness You're Here! immediately left its mark with a love letter to Yorkshire, while Basingstoke sees you escape the Hampshire town after it gets overrun by aliens and zombies. Now we have Morgan: Metal Detective taking us to a fictional part of Cornwall.

Playing as the titular character, Morgan: Metal Detective sees you visiting her mother following her grandfather's passing. Having been given his trusted metal detector, you're tasked with scouring Glasden to learn more about the island village's secret treasure, helping out local residents along the way. Everyone's looking for something, leaving finding this up to yourself.

I remember trying a rather charming demo for Morgan over a year ago at WASD 2024, playing off a Steam Deck set up at an official booth. Meeting different villagers, taking photos and documenting what you found as you learn more about Glasden seems like a straightforward concept, yet it was clear back then that this journey has potential.

Morgan: Metal Detective arrives on July 30 on PC, Switch, PlayStation, and Xbox.
