PowerWash Simulator 2 Looks Good but Kaiju Cleanup Has My Attention
Kaiju No.8: Cleanup Crew reporting in.

As someone who's been following kaiju films since I was a kid, cleaning up after them is an interesting idea.
While PowerWash Simulator 2 may have just released a Steam demo, Kaiju Cleanup's monstrous twist on the cleaning sim genre has my attention. There's room for both, of course, and this is frankly my way of covering both stories at once. Developed by Brightrock Games, the latter sees you working with KaijuCorp to resolve the aftermath of a giant monster attack.
Revealed during the latest PC Gaming Show, our goal is to clean through disaster zones by decontaminating streets while slicing up and packaging these 400ft monsters. Unlike PowerWash Simulator, death is a real threat due to corpses leaking radiation or acidic fluids, alongside "shedding explosive organs." I dread to think what that entails, though clearing missions lets you upgrade your equipment.
I'm reminded of Kaiju No.8 to a degree, the manga series where its protagonist Kafka Hibino can turn into a kaiju at will. Hibino's day job before that incident sees him working as part of a kaiju clean-up crew after the Japanese Anti-Kaiju Defense Force takes down these monsters. Coming after July's launch for Co-op Kaiju Horror Cooking, I'll be keeping an eye on this.
There's no release date yet for Kaiju Cleanup, though it's “coming soon” to Steam.
