Sim-Cade Racer Formula Legends Reaches the Grid Next Month

Sim-cade racer Formula Legends heads to most platforms next month, and a new demo is now live.

While this isn't legally a Formula 1 game, it's hard to deny that Formula Legends certainly looks the part at face value. Developed by 3D Clouds, the upcoming game promises a blend of arcade-like gameplay mixed with strategic considerations that using a more cartoonish art style. Now, a new release date trailer confirms its launching on September 18.

Following the previous Steam Next Fest demo back in June, which turned out to be one of my favorite demos during that event, 3D Clouds has released a revised version with new content. That includes Custom Races and a Time Attack mode, two tracks taking us to Belgium and Hungary, three different eras you can race between, new weather conditions, new camera settings including a cockpit view, and more.

I've enjoyed what I've tried of Formula Legends so far. As someone who usually spends more time on more realistic racers like F1 25 or Gran Turismo 7, I've enjoyed the more humorously off-brand take on the iconic motorsport. There's enough strategy to keep this interesting without being too in-depth, and I'll likely jump back in at full release.

Formula Legends reaches Switch, Xbox Series, PS5, and PC on September 18. A demo is now live, and the Switch version will follow on August 14.
