First Moon of Mercury Is a Solarpunk Puzzler Where You Protect a Space Station

First Moon of Mercury is a sci-fi puzzle game where you protect a space station's crew from being sabotaged.

Revealed today by Canadian studio Games by Stitch, First Moon of Mercury is a near-future tale set in the year 2066. After a G6 geomagnetic storm creates social, economic and political havoc across the Earth, this sees the titular space station created to deflect solar flares from Earth and harness clean energy. Here's the announcement trailer.

While talk of sabotage and space stations might bring games like Among Us to mind, you don't play as a crewmate in First Moon of Mercury. Instead, you play as PIM, a space station control system secretly programmed to protect the mission and crew while keeping your sentience secret. Failing to trust the right crew members will see you getting shut down.

It's the latest project from Games by Stitch following July's launch of Elsewhere Electric, an asymmetric co-op puzzle game for both VR and mobile. Taking inspiration from The Witness and Severance, you're tasked with investigating a bizarre power plant as you explore this abandoned building and solve puzzles together to progress.

First Moon of Mercury targets a 2027 launch on Steam. While the system requirements list VR support, it's unclear if that's a mistake since it's not mentioned elsewhere on the page. I've asked Games by Stitch for clarification and will update this if I learn more.
