Fast Fusion Is Getting Three New Tracks This Week

Futuristic Switch 2 racer Fast Fusion will add three new tracks in its first major update later this week.

One of the biggest Switch 2 launch line-up highlights earlier this month, Fast Fusion is bringing back a handful of tracks from its Switch 1 predecessor, Fast RMX. Sharing details with Nintendo Life and more on social media (credit: Knoebel), the upcoming 'PURE Update' on June 26 introduces the Carbium Cup with three tracks; Alpine Trust, Sunahara Plains, and Zenshoh Habitat.

This brings the total number of courses up t0 15, which is welcome news as Fast Fusion felt a little bare compared to Fast RMX's 36 tracks, though six were post-launch arrivals. This update also expands upon an already large set of performance modes, adding a 'PURE' option without any upscaling. That runs at 1440p resolution in docked mode, and 1080p in handheld with dynamic resolution.

It's welcome news all around, and Shin'en's major update includes a few additional tweaks. Other new changes include a new GPU particle system for snow, two new jukebox entries, easier progression with a lower price needed to unlock the 3rd cup, plus stability improvements and bug fixes. You can find the full list below.

In a third-party launch line-up mostly dominated by older ports, Fast RMX has been a welcome sight that quickly became one of our favourites. Marking the fourth entry in Shin'en's long-running series, this introduced some welcome changes, such as jumping strategically to reach new routes across the track. In my eyes, it's the best entry yet in this futuristic racing series.
