Atari Just Acquired Child Of Eden, My Favourite PS3 Game
Atari acquired five Ubisoft games with the intent to re-release them.

Atari has acquired the rights to five Ubisoft games, including Rez spiritual successor Child of Eden.
Announced through Business Wire, Atari confirmed it acquired all intellectual property rights to five games from Ubisoft's back catalogue. This also includes horror shooter Cold Fear, survival action game I Am Alive, plus experimental platforming duology Grow Home and Grow Up, “with a view to making them available on new platforms.” Promising to reintroduce each game to new platforms, Atari states all five will be re-released under its publishing label.
While I've never jumped into the other four games, I'm beyond thrilled that this deal includes Child of Eden, 2011's musical rail shooter from the now-defunct Q-Entertainment. Directed by Tetsuya Mizuguchi (Lumines Arise, Tetris Effect), this short on-rails shooter is frankly fantastic. Not only does it boast some stunning visuals, it's boosted further by a remarkable soundtrack from Genki Rockets.
It's easily my favourite PS3 game alongside Infamous, Journey, and LittleBigPlanet. I've continued coming back across the years and always choose the PlayStation Move controllers, though it's also on Xbox 360 with Kinect support. I can only hope there's VR support with this re-release, something I always considered a pipedream until now.
Today's news also follows confirmation that Lumines Arise will launch on November 11 for PS5 and PC. Developed by Enhance, Mizuguchi's current studio, who worked on Rez Infinite and Tetris Effect, this coincided with the launch of a limited-time demo across both platforms that supports single-player and multiplayer. That's available to download now.
