The Original Ace Attorney Trilogy Is Getting A Surprise Update

I expected Capcom might have a surprise or two for its Tokyo Game Show presentation, but an Ace Attorney Trilogy update was not on my bingo card.

Announced during its presentation earlier today, Capcom revealed that its 2019 edition of Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy is getting a major title update on November 19. Coming to Switch, PS4, Xbox One, and PC - sorry mobile players - this upcoming quality-of-life update brings it in line with Ace Attorney's more recent compilations.

This upcoming “Title Update” adds a Gallery Mode, the ability to select individual episodes, a music player covering the original trilogy's soundtrack, and an automatically progressing “story mode” if you ever get stuck on a specific challenge. Latin American Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese localizations will also be available.

Naturally, this has me lamenting the lack of an Ace Attorney 7 announcement, though I'm still pleased to see such a substantial update arriving six years after this edition launched - ignoring the 3DS port and original mobile ports. Like I said before, though, I don't think we should be concerned. Given all the effort Capcom's gone to in bringing the whole series to modern platforms these last few years, I'm still convinced there's a new game coming.

We’ll (Probably) Get Ace Attorney 7 One of These Days
Let me cope.
