Compelling Cyberpunk Murder Mystery 'of the Devil' Drops Episode 2 Soon

Murder mystery enthusiasts rejoice, the next episode for 'of the Devil' is coming soon.

Set in a dystopian 2086 where cases have a 98% conviction rate, of the Devil sees you play as public defender Morgan in a stylish visual novel. Between examining crime scenes and cross examining claims, you're tasked with uncovering the truth behind each incident across this episodic series. Now, nth Circle Studios announced that Episode 2 is on its way on December 18.

Episode 2 involves Morgan getting accustomed to her new work-life balance following the previous episode's events, only this time she's become involved in a gang war spanning decades. "Morgan will travel from the city's lowest depths to its highest peaks as she finds herself caught in the middle of [it]," states the Steam page.

If you've not yet jumped into of the Devil but love a good mystery game, I highly recommend at least trying the free prologue, Episode 0, which takes roughly two hours. It's an essential part of the story that hooked me in over the weekend on Steam Deck, making for a great introduction with its captivating drama, critiques of the modern world, and neon flair.

Without spoiling any particulars, its a gripping start that builds up the tension well and Morgan makes for a highly compelling protagonist. I wouldn't go for the usual comparisons like Ace Attorney or Danganronpa here, though its certainly scratching that same investigative itch. I've since started on Episode 1, so I'm hoping to complete this before Episode 2 launches.

Five episodes are planned in total, and of the Devil's currently only available on PC.
