Obsidian Moon Blends 30s Noir Mystery With Mediterranean Myths
“Every choice leaves a scar”

Obsidian Moon is a text-based detective game inspired by 30s noir and Mediterranean mythology that's coming to Steam.
Created by Lost Cabinet Games, Obsidian Moon sees you playing a once-respected homicide detective that finds himself haunted by grief and failure. With an increasing slate of murders that finds itself tied up in an otherworldly conspiracy beneath the city. As Carter, you're tasked with solving a series of 10 interconnected cases using logic and instinct while your sanity slowly declines.
With only a limited amount of time to uncover this mystery, Carter has several options at his disposal. While you can play this more cleanly by interrogating witnesses, investigate criminal records and run forensics reports, he can also force confessions using his magnum. These choices can be the difference between finding the truth or collapsing entirely.
Alongside Carter, this story also unfolds from two additional narrative perspectives of your partner and Chief O'Hara. Additional modes include a “hardcore permadeath” option alongside an “immersive Noir black-and-white” filter.
In a prepared statement, Game Director Yannis Antonakakis advised that the goal is to offer full investigative freedom. “What if all the clues were laid out in front of you, and the only thing standing between order and chaos was your mind?” states Antonakakis, who confirmed the detective game's built around this one question.
Obsidian Moon is coming to Steam, though a release date is unconfirmed.
