Lost in Random: The Eternal Die Rolls Up Next Month With A Roguelite Sequel
Beware Mare.

Lost in Random: The Eternal Die rolls up with an action roguelite sequel to the 2021 hit in just over a month.
Returning once again to the world of Random, Lost in Random: The Eternal Die is certainly one of the more surprising sequels we've recently seen. Following the events of the original game, we now play as Queen Aleksandra as she finds herself trapped in the form of a young child. Joined by die-companion Fortune, we must battle our way through four procedurally generated worlds to defeat a new threat, Mare The Knight.
Promising a fully voiced campaign, Lost in Random: The Eternal Die gives you four unique weapons to wield across this journey alongside over 100 different relics. Combining these with card-based abilities lets you unleash "devastating synergies," and this campaign promises over 30 different types of enemies with bosses ready and waiting.
On one hand, I'm curious to see how things play out with The Eternal Die, as the first Lost in Random was one of my favourite games back in 2021. That said, I'm not completely convinced that it needs a follow-up, nevermind an action roguelite spin-off. The game's original directors have since left Zoink too, though the studio merged with Image & Form before being renamed to Stormteller Games.
Still, I'd love to see The Eternal Die prove me wrong and while previews only show a limited slice of what's to come, I'm encouraged that the initial ones are positive. Jade King at TheGamer states it's "already shaping up to be a great time," while Aaron Potter at The Mirror believes the upcoming sequel "provides a solid enough narrative hook to chew on."
I'll be sharing my own full thoughts as soon as I can. Until then, Lost in Random: The Eternal Die launches on June 16 for PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Switch.
